Earning Money Online in 2018 With Swagbucks

One of the easiest ways to earn money in pajamas is through the use of the website Swagbucks. If you are like me, you are likely very skeptical when it comes to the possibility of scams that claim to allow you to make money online. When I first read about Swagbucks, I did my due diligence to make sure that the site was not a scam. I first reviewed this site more than five years ago. I’m happy to note that you can still make money online with Swagbucks in 2018. In fact, I’ve accumulated more than $2,000 from the site since I signed up.

Swagbucks pays out members in the form of digital dollars known as SBs.  Members can earn currency for doing a number of various tasks online. Some of these are common tasks that they would ordinarily do anyway. Others require a bit more effort. What are some of these tasks, you might ask?

This site uses affiliate links. If you sign up for a program through one of my links, I may be compensated.

1. Earn Money from Searching the Web

One of the easiest ways for members to earn SBs is through searching the web through the site’s search engine. Users who are signed in will earn random SBs by searching for things that they would normally search for anyway. I’ve personally won anywhere between 3 and 100 SBs for searches, although around 7 to 11 seem to be most common. While the search results might not be the same as Google, you have to ask–Does Google pay you? Swagbucks does.

2. Answering Polls and Looking at Ads

Each day, users of the Swagbucks site have the opportunity to earn an SB for answering a poll. There is also the chance to earn one digital dollar for completing the Daily Crave, which is involves a couple of videos that usually include ads. Finally, there is a “Deal of the Day” on the left sidebar that will pay out an SB.

3. Filling out Daily Surveys

Most of the surveys are similar to those offered on other sites. Generally, those who qualify can earn 50 SBs or more each day for completing surveys. You will not get accepted by many of the surveys, but most will give you an SB for your trouble if you don’t (up to a maximum of five per day). I’ve made as much as 200 SB for a single survey. I generally do not attempt those that say that they will take more than 10 or 15 minutes. Some will claim to take 45 minutes and pay out more, but I don’t want to stick with the computer that long at a time.  My favorite are those that take 10 minutes or less.

Click on this guy to watch videos that credit on                                                  Swagbucks.

4. Swagbucks Watch

Swagbucks Watch is an online video streamer that has a variety of options for those who want to watch. Members can watch news, financial markets, entertainment, and other types of videos. Most are fairly short. After watching a predetermined number of videos, a member will usually earn between 1 and 3 SBs. It is possible to start these videos and then leave the room. The site can afford to do this because each video starts with a 15 to 30 second ad that users have to sit through. There are reports that some users get the maximum daily limit of 500 SBs in this manner. They will also reload and continue running, theoretically indefinitely, although I’ve never actually tried it.

The image above, known as Laptop Guy (or LTG) in the Swagbucks community pays out pretty frequently. He requires you to click through the videos. I use this pretty frequently when I’m watching a show in the evening.

5. Clipping Coupons

Many people have been getting into the practice of using online coupon sites to get discounts on name-brand items at the grocery store. This is a great way to save money. One of the leading vendors of coupons is coupons.com. Swagbucks links to coupons.com and those who redeem the coupons clipped from the Swagbucks site can earn 10 digital SB for each coupon. It will take a few weeks for this to show up in an account, but I’ve personally seen 30 SBs show up for some coupons my wife used. The 10 SB is in addition to whatever the face value of the coupon is that you get during a visit to the store.

6. Referring Friends and Family to Swagbucks

Swagbucks is not a multi-level marketing site, but users can get bonuses for referrals. Each referral can earn the referee 10 percent of the referral’s earnings.  SB are earned for most of those earned by the referrals. There is currently no limit on the number of referrals a member can get. In the spirit of disclosure, if you sign up using my link, I will get the referral bonus. This does not come out of your earnings, but it will help mine. Of course, you can sign up with the regular old link and earn the same amount. I thank those who sign up with my link for Swagbucks.

There are other ways to earn Swagbucks on the site, but these are some of more common. Earning at least 30 SBs a day is possible with a very minimal activity. Just do a few searches in the morning and the evening and you should get around 15 to 20 without doing anything else.

7. Swagbucks Shop

By going through the shopping portal that’s provided by Swagbucks, you can earn cash back that ranges from 1 or 2 percent up to 10 percent at times on various online merchants. The rebate depends upon the time of the year and the particular merchant that you use. This is basically free money. Also, if you use a points-earning or cash-back credit card for the purchase, you can actually multiply the benefit that you can get from Swagbucks.

What are Swagbucks worth?

The basic value of each SB when it comes to redeeming them is usually around $0.01. This may not seem like much, but a person who just spends about two minutes twice a day doing searches is likely to earn well over $100 in a year, all while sitting on the couch or watching TV. When it comes to the end of the year, these rewards will come in handy for buying Christmas presents. I’m now up to nearly $2,200 in lifetime earnings through the site.

What can you get with Swagbucks?

There is a wide variety of items that users can earn through redeeming Swagbucks. These include digital accessories and games. Most people seem to redeem their digital currency for gift cards. These redemptions can start at 300 SBs for a $3 e-gift card from Amazon.com. Most gift cards are now about 500 SBs for a $5 e-gift card. Users can save up and get cards in higher denominations, but the cost is still about 100 SB per dollar.

Popular e-gift cards can buy merchandise at retailers like Walmart, Target, and Best Buy, as well as several popular restaurants that have included O’Charley’s, Chili’s, and TGI Fridays. Members also have the option to redeem their Swagbucks for PayPal credit. This is basically straight cash into your account. When looking at the effort required, signing up for Swagbucks is a great idea. Here are my top 5 ways to redeem on Swagbucks. It’s a great way to earn a few buck in your spare time.

You can find out how you can actually start to build wealth using Swagbucks in my eBook, which is free to read if you have a Kindle Unlimited subscription. It’s $2.99 otherwise.

Earn Free Money: Ibotta App Review

Just today, I redeemed another $20 through Ibotta (This is a referral link. I may be compensated). This is the third time that I’ve been able to redeem through the Ibotta app, and I’ve earned more than $65 overall in about three months. While I’ve not gotten rich by any means, getting $65 for doing pretty much what I’d do anyway is pretty cool. This review of Ibotta will hopefully show you how you can make money with the app.

If you sign up for Ibotta through my referral link, you can get a free $10 after making your first purchase (excluding “Any Item” rebates). You can literally buy a pack of gum, get a $0.25 rebate on it, and earn $10 for the trouble as long as the first purchase takes place within 7 days of your signing up. You’ll then be a little more than halfway to redeeming your rebates for some money.

The Ibotta app pays off.
Here’s the basic concept for Ibotta.

What Is The Ibotta App?

Simply put, the Ibotta app is a shopping app that offers users rebates for making purchases. I signed up via another blogger’s referral link, and started by buying strawberry milk mix for my kids. This purchase gave me a $1 rebate and then triggered the $10 sing-up bonus. Here are the steps you’ll need to take to start redeeming on the app:

  1. Sign up for the Ibotta program and set up your account
  2. Download the Ibotta app from the Google or Apple app store
  3. Sign in with the account information (email and password) that you gave for Step 1
  4. Look for rebates at your favorite brick-and-mortar or online retailers (you might have to watch a short video or answer a survey question to do so). Once the rebate shows a green check mark, you’re good to go.
  5. Make the purchase on your next trip to Wal-Mart or another retailer
  6. Scan your receipt. The Ibotta app itself will take a picture of your entire receipt or a QR code that’s found at the bottom of the receipt in the case of Wal-Mart. You can also link your loyalty cards for some retailers and skip this process.
  7. Scan the UPC code for most of the items you’ll want to redeem. You don’t have to do this step for the any item rebates.
  8. Wait for the app to verify the purchase. The rebate will  show up in your account within a day or so (usually quicker).
  9. Cash out with PayPal or Venmo when you reach $20 (or redeem for a gift card to leading retailers or restaurants).

That’s it. It’s a pretty simple process that probably takes less than an hour overall to cash out for $20 or more.

Why Should You Get The Ibotta App?

Well, in one word, the answer would be…money! Everybody has to eat, and unless you starred on Duck Dynasty, you’re probably going to go to Wal-Mart or some local grocery store. Dollar General, Love’s Travel Center, and Casey’s are also retailers that you can use to redeem rebates. Since you have to eat or get gas, you might as well get some money back for the trouble.

Additionally, you can actually stack your Ibotta rebates with manufacturer’s or store coupons. This allows you to basically double dip and stack rebates when using the Ibotta app. You can effectively multiply your savings this way.

Additionally, there are some rebates that come just from buying literally anything. I’ve redeemed several $0.25 rebates for “Any Item.” Additionally, there will sometimes be rebates for any brand of white milk, bananas, and other staples. Keep in mind that these rebates will not qualify you for the $10 signup bonus that I noted above. You have to buy an item from a specified manufacturer for this bonus.

The Final Verdict

While you’re probably not going to get rich with it, the Ibotta app is definitely worth it! You can earn money in pajamas (because I’ve seen people shopping in their pajamas in public–although I don’t do it, nor do I really recommend it).

Again, you can sign up for Ibotta here. I’ve already earned $65 by shopping and watching out for bonuses that you can earn through Ibotta. I even have friends who have redeemed more than $200. They are on my “team”, and there are some team bonuses that can kick in and supercharge your earnings.

Online Earnings For April 2017

Online earnings can benefit your bottom line.
Photo Credit: FirmBee via Pixabay (public domain)

The month of May 2017 is about a week old. April is long gone, and I’ve already updated any readers on my passive dividend income for April 2017.  Now it’s time to write about my online earnings for April.

I love passive income, but the biggest problem with this type of income is the fact that everyone starts at $0.  That is, unless you’re a trust fund baby. You have to earn active income before you can receive passive income.

Even in the instance of people who get born on third base, someone had to earn the capital to produce the passive income to start with. I’m in the accumulation phase of this journey.

Dave Ramsey likes to say that your biggest wealth building tool is your income. If you can build up passive income that covers your expenses, you’re financially independent. You’ve reached the “pinnacle experience” that Ramsey mentions.

However, if you’re not yet there, you still have to earn your income. This will usually come from a job. Doctors and lawyers and engineers tend to make enough to build wealth pretty quickly. Most of the rest of us, not so much.

This, dear readers, is why I started attempting to ramp up online earnings several years ago. I figured that I needed to bring in some more income than my job provided.

I’d worked fast food and retail in college. I knew I did not want to do so again. That’s why I started investigating ways to make money online, preferably in my pajamas–hence the name of this site.

I earned some side money in April. Here’s how I did so.

Online Earnings For April

I had online earnings from three different sources in April. Keep in mind that these avenues took a bit of effort on my part. They were definitely active income. Here is my online income by source for April 2017:

Freelance Writing:                                                                                                $218.02
Swagbucks:                                                                                                                  $50.00
GiftHulk:                                                                                                                          $5.00

Total Online Earnings for April 2017:                                                      $273.02

This is about an average month for me. As I’m looking to build up passive income, I could increase my passive income by nearly $11 if I invested all of this money into a dividend stock that pays a 4 percent yield. That’s enough to buy me about 1/2 an hour of freedom based upon my estimate of needing $20/hour to keep up my current standard of living.

I’ve had people ask where I earned money for freelance writing. I’ve earned several thousand dollars writing on Textbroker over the past few years. This is a site where people who need articles/blog posts/marketing materials written post opportunities for enterprising individuals like myself. You can claim any that are available at the level you’ve qualified for.

I earned a bit of money from GiftHulk this month.  This site pays users for the first search they perform each and every hour. You can also perform other tasks like watching videos on GiftHulk TV to earn more “Hulk Coins”, which is the digital currency that you can cash out.

I used my Hulk Coins to get PayPal cash, which I put toward paying down my mortgage. This will effectively earn me a return of 4.125 percent, which is my current interest rate. You can sign up for GiftHulk here if you want to start earning a few bucks in your spare time.

I also earned some income from Swagbucks.  This is a site that’s pretty easy to use. You can use the money you earn here to build wealth over time. Here’s a resource with the general strategy that you can use to start growing passive income via Swagbucks.

Benefits Of Earning Online

One of the biggest benefits of earning money online is the fact that just about anyone in America can do so. For sites like Swagbucks or GiftHulk teens as young as 13 can earn.  Most freelance writing sites will require you to be an adult.

If you’re smart, you can use the money you earn to do great things like pay off debt or save for the future. Whether you pay off debt or save money, you’ll earn a return that’s equal to the interest rate. You can avoid paying interest if you pay off debt. You can earn interest or dividends if you save. It’s a win-win situation regardless.

Online earnings are only limited by the time that you spend and the effort you put into making money. Also, it’s a good idea to think in terms of the future. A dollar today is worth more than a dollar in the future when you think of the power of compounding. The time to start earning is today so that you can take advantage of that power.

If you’d like to follow my progress each month, be sure to go to the top of the page and sign up for updates.

Over $100 in CashCrate Earnings

Many people wonder if CashCrate is a scam. Just fill out surveys and cash offers to earn money? This seems like one of those too good to be true concepts that will burn people. Can you use CashCrate to earn money in pajamas?

I can personally verify that I’ve already gotten three checks from the company with little in the way of work. I spend maybe 5 or 10 minutes a day on the site, and I’ve now passed the $100 mark in all-time earnings. Below is a picture of one of my checks from the CashCrate.

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA

It is literally very easy to earn money from CashCrate. New users get a $1 bonus just for signing up. People can also make money from using the cash search option. Of course, the bread and butter of the site are the cash offers and the daily surveys. People who are able to complete all of the daily surveys can earn close to $5 per day, and some of the surveys take all of 5 minutes (although some are quite a bit longer).

From time to time, the bonus surveys link will have videos to watch. These will pay out a few cents for about a minute of work. The videos are not up daily, but they are worth checking out.

Those who have friends can make quite a bit of money with the CashCrate referral system. There is the possibility of earning up to 30% of the amount earned on every cash offer completed by first-level referrer. To show that I’ve been able to make over $100 while sitting in my pajamas, check out the banner below that tracks my up-to-date earnings with the site:
